FAQ

Questions homeowners ask.

Before, during, and after your install.

Getting started

Does the review cost anything?

No, and you’re not committing to anything. We look at your home and put together a preliminary design and cost comparison when it makes sense. A site survey confirms the final details.

Do I need my electric bill to start?

No. Tell us about your home first and send the bill later.

How long does a project take?

That varies with the design, the equipment, permits, and utility approval. Your proposal includes a schedule, and we update it as things move.

Your system

Will you work on a system another company installed?

Yes, even if that company has gone out of business. We check the equipment, who owns it, and the utility agreement first.

Will I lose my NEM if I add panels?

It depends on the design. Some additions let your original system keep the NEM years it has left. We check against your utility’s rules first.

Can I add just a battery?

Often, yes. It depends on your equipment, your electrical setup, and how much backup you want.

Will a battery power my whole house?

It can if it’s designed for that. What runs, and for how long, depends on your appliances, the battery’s size, and its charge.

Paying and after the install

Who does the installation?

A licensed, independent installer signs a contract with you for the work. We handle consultation, design, project management, and support.

Is there financing for the prepaid PPA?

Yes, if a lender approves you. The loan and the power agreement are separate contracts.

Who do I call about a warranty problem?

Equipment and workmanship have separate warranties. Your handoff packet lists both and who to contact. We can also point you in the right direction.
